I recently switched from PC to Mac & currently needed to convert a few .wmv files to view them on my MacBook. Downloaded this app, chose a file I needed to convert, and boom! Very happy I was able to navigate the program since I’m still learning Macs OS. Thanks!
crashes constantly
hard to review —— crashes every time I try to load video
This is one great tool! I was able to convert several wmv files to mp4 in a matter of seconds. I love the extra features like Effects where I was able to add my watermark logo to all my videos. It’s pretty intuitive and I was able to quickly figure out how to use the other features such as the merge capability. Thanks!
Tried conerting a WMV file but as soon as i tried importing the filei got an error that simply said failed to import file. No matter what i did i couldn’t inport the file. Didn’t get very far at all. After several restarts and different attempts at importing the file i gave up and deleted the app.
Just because it’s free, doesn’t mean it won’t work! The steps are fairly simple and easy to follow, and once you start downloading- if you have a new computer or semi-used, it WILL convert fairly quickly and effectively. I had downloaded a few of my favorite episodes from my favorite show that were 9-10 minutes long, but since I owned a Mac, and some of them were .wmv format, I couldn’t play them. When I downloaded this app- I had doubts but it WORKED on ALL of them and they look just fine! Now I can enjoy ALL of the epidoes with pleasure and without worry~ Thank you guys so much for the help! ;)
Love this converter
I know we all have to make a living right? I appreciate that I can get a decent converter for for my low quality AVI's forget free usage, then pay more down the road should I need the more advanced options. Thank you very much for being fair.
Useless
App managed to turn old viceo clips of my son into sample graphics. Horrible product.
Also converst .mov files on my mac air that quicktime will no longer open

Very East to Use
I have several disks from the early 2000s with videos of my child's childhood events like school events, sports, vacations, etc., that have .WMV files and I am able to breeze through the process of converting. I am not too tech savvy so this has been great, kudos to the developers for a user-friendly product.
Worthless adware
Doesn't work with the WMVs I tested it on. Pops up ads for other non-free software when it starts. This is a trojan horse for an unscrupulous software company. Stay away.

I’ve been struggling for almost 2 hours trying to open an avi file and couldn’t. I tried the free app and had it convertyed in m minutes! Awesome!!!! 12/16/20
Trash, don’t bother wasting your time
Can’t convert files to any resolution above 1280 and the files it does output are horrible quality even on the best settings.

I tried another app and didn't work. This one worked perfect! 38 files - 5 GB in one shot and converted all of them with no problem.

Little Output
Tried to convert a .wmv to .mov then .mp4 and the output was two seconds long each time with no indication why. This result was useless.
This worked for me just fine
I had really modest needs and only needed to convert WMV files to MP4 so I could watermark them on a Mac. This worked just fe for that application. Also converted from WMV to MOV just fine. So if that's what you need, I highly recommend this app.
AVI to MP4
Worked fine for me on some videos I recorded back in 2010 on a digital camera - I was able to easily convert all of those file to MP4, and the audio works as well.
Exactly what I am looking for
It took me almost an hour trying all kinds of apps(not free) to convert .WMV to play on my mac until I found this one. It did the job nicely and it’s free!!
Awesome but needs update
Great app that works very well for converting files, but needs to be updated for future compatibility with newer versions of macOS. There is a pop-up that says the app needs to be updated for compatibility and I assume that means this developer needs to update it for use on newer versions of macOS.
quicktime can’t open this file - this app will help

Works great, easy to use
I have this cheap webcam here which records files to AVI. I load this into QuickTime and it doesn't work, I load it in VLC and it doesn't work. Maybe I need to specify a demuxer, but I have no idea which one. So I downloaed this app and it recognized the input AVI file and converted it to MP4 no problem, so I'm very happy with it and I'll continue to use it.
FINALLY, A CONVERTER THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!
This converter is super simple. Select the file you want to convert from a wmv file and it downloads it to a file you Mac can read in less than a minute, thank you!!!
Excellent FREE solution to my longstanding problem.
I have been trying to find a product like this for ages. I do not do enough video conversions to justify purchasing any software so this was a blessing. Worked perfectly!! And it’s free!
No Audio
Converting AVI video to MP4 works, but this app deletes the audio.

Good so far
I used to make videos on my old laptop using Windows Movie Maker, but my new apple couldn’t run them. This app converted them to MP4 quickly and efficiently. No water mark, no flaws that I can tell. Only gave 4 stars because I haven’t tested it extensively and I haven’t tried any other apps for comparison.

I don’t know what other people’s needs are but I had a file that was sentimental (of our beautiful home that we sold). It was a 2006 real esatate video and I could no longer open it. Now I can and I am very happy with the result (converted to QuickTime). Thanks for that. :)
Coverted .WMV file to my Mac OS 10X .MOV
This is a free app. I converted three .WMV files so I can run them on my Macbook Pro OS X. This software gives you a ton of choices on the type of conversion you want. I convert to .MOV I found under All Profiles. The software converted the three files in seconds, for each file. I watched all three video's and enjoyed each video. I would recommend this conversion tool software. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is; I didn’t test any other converter software so I don’t have something to compare it to. It could of easyly been rated 5 stars.

Needed to listen to an old WMV file. Clicked on it to convert and then was able to listen. It was so easy! Yay :)
fails completely
I am running on a Mac OS X 10.12.5, tried converting a .wmv file to .mov, that failed, then tried .mp4 that failed. I could see my video in the preview window but no coversion possible, it just said ‘failed’ no user feedback or reason for the failure.

tried to convert a wmv, wouldn’t even let me select it for conversion. There goes 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

We had a few videos (2008 vintage) that we’d given up ever seeing again, but I just downloaded this app and in minutes I was watching my old videos! Couldn’t have been easier or faster.
Super easy to convert between formats
I have some poorly encoded 720p .avi files from a drone. Only VLC would play them, and even then there were lots of drop outs. I used this program to convert the files to H.264 HD format and it worked perfectly, first time. The videos look great now. I’ll keep my review at 4* until I check out the other features, but I wanted to quickly signal that this is a super easy, free converter that does what it says.
